Welcome to gdaymate.nl!

A lot of non-Aussies ask what G'day Mate means. It simply means 'hello', in Australia that is.

The story begins 22 years ago, on 30 October 1982. In a Sydney suburb, at the Mona Vale hospital, a boy is born. Apart from a few problems, all goes well with him and his parents. They live in the sunny Sydney suburb of Dee Why, just a couple of meters from the beach.
2 years later a little sister is born. Apart from the usual brother/sister fights, they get along quite well...
Then disaster struck. Mother got homesick, and wanted to go back to the Netherlands. Little as he was, the boy had nothing to say, and the family went back to the Netherlands.
The fascination for Australia always stayed. Father promised the boy a ticket to Australia, so he could spend his summer holidays there, after he finished High School. The boy joked he maybe ought to go for a year, so off he went on 21 November 2000. After about 7 months in Australia he spent all his money, but after returning to the Netherlands the love for Australia grew bigger and bigger. After that, the boy went to study IT at the Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen.
September 2004 he met a girl, Melissa, and they've been living together for almost a year now, together with their two cats and two guinea pigs. School became boring, and after a visit to the open house of the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, a choice was made. Study plans were changed, and he started studying business informatics (half year school, half year work)...

And that brings us to today. At this moment only my portfolio and curriculum vitae can be found here.
